In a sapphic spin on the classic selkie myth, we follow landlocked Mariele's journey to rediscover her aquatic heritage and uncover buried truths about her late mother that have laid hidden beneath a meadow of seagrass in a Pacific Northwest bay. When a spirited young selkie washes up on the shore outside Mariele’s cabin, she and her childhood friend Brick must set out on a quest to return a missing seal skin. Old flames and new beginnings collide in the crashing saltwater waves as Mariele takes the plunge to find her true self.
